Farm Town - Finally hire friends to Plow

It's finally here - the update we've all been asking for. We can now hire our neighbors, friends and folk from the marketplace to plow our Farm Town farms!

  1. Employees make 5 coins per field plowed.
  2. Employers's cost is reduced to 10 or 15, depending if the employee is a neighbour or not.
  3. Employees can only plow on fields that have been harvested, or that have gone to waste.

Also there are some great new crops :

  • Pineapple
  • Blueberry
  • Carrots
  • Pepper
  • Cotton
  • Raspberry

Cotton is a four day crop and raspberry a two hour crop... i'll have a look later o see which is the most profitable - but if you already know do post and tell!

Also there are some great new flowers :

  • Pink Tulips
  • Purple Crocus
  • Yellow Lilies
  • Red Poppies
  • Orange Poppies
  • Yellow Poppies
  • Red Crocus
  • Daffodils

Finally the camera function has been updated and you can now take a "zoomed in" photo!

  1. Do you still get an experience point for each field plowed?

  2. For plowing someone else's field you get 5 coins and 1 xp. The person who hired you spends 10 coins a field if you're a neighbour and 15 coins if you're not (as opposed to the usual 20 for plowing your own land) and also gets 1xp.

As far as the crops go, I don't know the cost of blueberries or pineapples but here's the list of crops in terms of profit/time. The number in parenthesis is the number of days (days in FarmTown are 20-hour periods) that the crops take to grow.

    1 Raspberry (0.1)
    2 Grape (0.2)
    3 Pepper (2)
    4 Carrot (2)
    5 Onions (3)
    6 Cabbage (1)
    7 Peas (2)
    8 Rice (2)
    9 Potato (1)
    10 Corn (3)
    11 Watermelon (1)
    12 Pumpkin (4)
    13 Strawberry (1)
    14 Wheat (2)
    15 Coffee (3)
    16 Cotton (4)
    17 Tomato (2)
    18 Sunflower (3)

NOTE: this order is based on you harvesting/replanting quickly and effeciently. You may not make as much money on one-day crops if it takes you 5-6 hours after they finish to replant. If you know you'll be back in 3 days (60 hours) plant Onions... they don't theoretically make as much money/day as pepper but if you harvest them quickly you'll make more than you would have.

I have a full chart of profit/times for crops based on the different costs of plowing (10, 15, or 20 coins), including the actual exact coins/day you make in profit for each specific crop and am thinking of publishing it for public use once it's completed (I need prices of blueberries and pineapples). I'm going to look into starting my own blog if I have the time or maybe giving it to the owner of this blog to publish. Either way, I hope some of the information I've posted will help you out!
